Women Celebrate Historic IOC Presidency: Kirsty Coventry Honored in Grand Style

Harare, Zimbabwe – April 29, 2025 – A wave of jubilant celebration swept through the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) today as hundreds of women gathered to honor Kirsty Coventry's historic appointment as President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The atmosphere was electric, a testament to the profound impact of Coventry's achievements and her unwavering dedication to empowering women.

The event, organized by the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (MWACSMED), transcended a mere gathering; it was a powerful display of solidarity and admiration. The Guest of Honor, the Minister of  the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (MWACSMED), Monica Mutsvangwa was visibly proud of Kirsty. Having worked closely with Coventry for seven years, the Honorable Minister spoke highly of their collaborative relationship, highlighting the mutual respect and admiration they share.
