Tshengi is self - driven and very passionate about uplifting vulnerable groups of people. She is an ardent believer of constitutional rights, gender mainstreaming, socio-economic inclusivity as instruments that can end gender disparity.

An eloquent advocate of the gender and trade agenda, Tshengi is an authentic voice for the marginalized women and youth – a group that is overly represented in the informal sector especially as cross border traders. Tshengi worked extensively a customs officer that made her travel regionally  where , she  interfaced with MSMEs  women traders economic  activities    at various  border posts.

She later joined the private sector and was the Liaison Person between government and the Logistic Industry.

Her wealth of experience emanating from government, private sector   and civic society has made her a natural trainer and consultant in the context of gender and trade.

She has contributed immensely in policy formulation that is reflective of the gender dimension. . Her business acumen has seen Tshengi sit in various boards of successful companies.  The government of Zimbabwe through the advocacy of women like Tshengi reversed two statutory instruments that were set to have negative impact on women

​

In November  2019  Tshengi was part of the first  UN Working Group on Discrimination against Women and Girls  that was held in Addis Ababa after participating in the Global Governance Programme  on Services and SDGs organized by Robert  Schuman  Centre of Advanced Studies in Florence ,Italy.

Tshengi is the Founder of the Organisation of Women in International Trade Zimbabwe and its current President. OWITZIMBABWE continues to research on the trade and gender issues and offers consultancy and training services on business and customs issues to Women Owned Businesses and Micro Small and Medium Enterprises.
